Chalk Paint Made With Cornstarch!
Three reasons why I totally love it:

{I don't always have Plaster of Paris on hand....} - It mixes up very easily
- The paint is so nice and smooth.... :)

Making Chalkpaint with a Secret Ingredient:
Tutorial {....psst: it's cornstarch....}
Slideshow Tutorial:
I have laying around the house.
I like to buy the "miss-tint" paint at Fred Meyer or Ace. Sometimes Home Depot has a good selection of cast-off paint as well around there.
Use any color of paint you would like, or mix several colors together to make you own "custom" creation.... :)
Now I will show you how it turned out this itsy-bitsy dresser:
Fun right...? Yes...? {I think so.... :) }
I like using flashcards in home decor....
I would love to hear what you think.... :)
Also: it may not have the same "stickiness" as say Annie Sloan,
so just to be sure, do a little bit of prepping first.
This post about chalkpaint using cornstarch has gotten a LOT of interest on the internet.
Let me tell you how this recipe came to be:
I was working in the kitchen when Restoration Hardware was on in the TV room, which I can hear from the kitchen, but not see. My sub-conscious mind was listening in when he talked about flat paint. I don't remember at all what was discussed on TV, but I do know this: my mind started thinking about cooking, baking and painting. Lo and behold, a day or two later this cornstarch recipe was born. I tried it out several times before I posted it, and the results were always fabulous to me, so I felt good about sharing it with the rest of the world.
I am glad so many of you readers in bloggy land enjoy the recipe as well!!
